If you want bang for your buck, head to this STUNNING hotel in the central business district (CBD) of Atlanta. You feel like you’re staying at the Ritz for a much nicer price.

Located north of the city centre is the Midtown district. A high-density commercial and residential neighbourhood, Midtown is a great area for travellers who want to be near, but not right at the centre of the action.
Inman Park
Inman Park is a charming neighbourhood set on the east side of Atlanta. Characterised by its 20th-century homes and its tree-lined streets, Inman Park is a neighbourhood that epitomizes Atlanta’s southern charm and style.
Old Fourth Ward
Not only is Old Fourth Ward one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city, but it is also far and away the coolest area of Atlanta.
Grant Park
Tucked away south of downtown Atlanta is the calm and idyllic community of Grant Park. Home to the oldest park in Atlanta, Grand Park is a Victoria neighbourhood packed with colourful homes and eclectic architecture and is bursting with historic charm.

The largest city in the state of Georgia, Atlanta is home to more than 486,000 people. It covers just 343 square kilometres, which is divided into 242 eclectic and traditional neighborhoods. This guide will break down the five best neighborhoods in Atlanta by budget and interest.
Starting with Downtown Atlanta. The heart and soul of the Atlanta city centre, this neighborhood is characterized by towering skyscrapers, interesting museums, tourist hotspots and ample green spaces.
Travel north and you’ll arrive in Midtown. A vibrant and thriving neighborhood, Midtown is home to a great selection of restaurants bars, museums and parks. It’s the most affordable area to stay, which is why it’s up there with one of my favourite areas.
Head southeast and you’ll pass through Old Fourth Ward. Undoubtedly the coolest neighborhood in the Atlanta city centre, Old Fourth Ward is a former industrial area now home to trendy eateries and cosy cafes.
Continue travelling southeast to Inman Park. This charming neighborhood is where you can enjoy all the perks of Atlanta without staying right in the city centre. It’s got pretty epic nightlife here that caters for all ages – so, if you’re after a night out when backpacking in Georgia, Inman Park could be for you!
And finally, head south to Grant Park. A well-connected and affluent neighborhood, it is packed with activities, green spaces and attractions that will delight all members of your family.

Dedicated to the achievements of the civil rights movement in the United States, this museum boasts a great selection of exhibitions and displays that outline the history of the movement as well as its key players and figures.

This four-star hotel is located at the heart of the city. It is close to top tourist attractions including Centennial Olympic Park and the World of Coca-Cola. Get set up slap bang in the middle of downtown with this cool, art-deco apartment. Given its location (you literally could not be more central) this place is an absolute bargain, even more so when splitting the bill 2 ways. Perfect for those looking to enjoy the city centre day and night. It’s an ideal holiday rental in Georgia.

Midtown is also where you’ll find the best selection of budget accommodations in the city. Atlanta is a notoriously expensive city. So by staying outside of the centre cost-conscious travellers will be able to find comfortable, clean and safe options that won’t break the bank.
You can find some budget VRBOs in Atlanta in this area that offer some good deals for long-term rents.
This neighborhood is also a great choice for culture vultures and art lovers. In Midtown you can enjoy a myriad of art, design and musical attractions any day or night of the week.

Alright boujee backpackers if you’re looking for a swanky apartment with city views, buckle up. This modern apartment comes with all the bells and whistles from high-end furnishing, two deluxe bedrooms, a walk-in closet and an onsite gym, plus an outdoor pool. Not the cheapest but if you’ve got the cash to splash you won’t regret it.

This colourful neighborhood is also home to some of the best nightlife in Atlanta. Boasting everything from eclectic restaurants and wine bars, to pubs and nightclubs. Inman Park is where you’ll find something for travellers of all ages and styles.

Set in downtown Atlanta, this hotel is your best bet for a more budget-friendly place to stay near the trendy Old Fourth Ward. Although, I wouldn’t class it as “cheap” – it’s one of the most affordable in the area and provides great bang for your buck.
In the heart of the city, this hotel is close to great eateries, shops, bars and landmarks. You’ll be a short walk from Peachtree Street and the Georgia Dome and Institute of Technology are also close by. Rooms are spacious and come complete with private bathrooms and essential amenities.

Atlanta is an electric and eclectic city set in the southern USA. It has a rich history, diverse culture, incredible food, and exciting music. I hope after reading this you’ve got a better idea of which area in Atlanta is best suited for you and your travel needs.
