Luckily, Italy has been well trodden by legendary backpackers before us – so even in the smaller parts of the country you can still often find yourself a decent hostel. These are often locally run and more auhentic anyway! So go wild in Italy and get off the beaten track – it’s a bloody gorgeous country.
