Yes, visiting Mykonos on your backpacking Greece adventure should be a must. For the best place to rest your head at night, check out my guide to the best Mykonos hostels. Which, funnily enough, I mostly made up of budget stays rather than your standard dorm rooms – bunk beds are few and far between here.
1. Mycocoon Hostel Mykonos – Best Overall Hostel in Mykonos

Mycocoon Hostel is like, some space-age accommodation for Mykonos, seriously. Probs the coolest hostel in Mykonos, but with traditional Mykonos Island prices: i.e. expensive. However, that’s a small price to pay for the best Mykonos hostel.
I mean, the island’s all about luxury, so if you’re gonna do it, a funky little place like Mycocoon Myconos hostel is a good choice. Needless to say, the rooms are comfy, and everything’s clean and looks cool. The island has one hostel and this is it so as far as hostel prices go, this covers cheap hostels, boujee stays and everything in between!

Located right at the entrance to the seaside Mykonos Town, this Mykonos hostel is not child friendly, not not really a party hostel either. A short walk to the local restaurants will keep you plenty entertained if you’re looking for some nightlife. This hostel is for you if you want to live the boujee designer Mykonos Island life but have a (boujee) backpacker budget.
There are a couple of private room options a this super paradise as well as two mixed dorms. There are hot showers, lots of bathrooms for everyone to use, linen is included and there are security lockers too. You can choose to sleep in either a single or double bed in the dorms which is a pretty elite hostel sleeping setup.
The pool is great as I’ve mentioned, and you can order a drink or a snack at the rooftop bar too which is handy. If you’re done in the sun for the day you can chill out in the common area to rest and recharge.
There isn’t a kitchen to use but the cafes and restaurants down the road are tasty and welcoming and an easy walk away. Hit these for a good meal before you inevitably return to the rooftop pool to chill and socialise with the other guests for the evening.
2. Super Paradise Suites & Rooms – Best Hostel in Mykonos For Solo Travellers

The clue’s in the name with this one: not only a paradise but a SUPER paradise. It’s bound to be good, isn’t it? And, well, it is, thankfully.
I’m gonna say that this is the best mid-range hotel in Mykonos. I choose this as the best Mykonos hostel for solo travellers because, well, I mean look at it! Although Mykonos Island is an expensive island, especially if you’re solo, it’s still an amazing experience and the beautiful beaches will leave you speechless.

The rooms at Super Paradise are clean, chic and modern (nice seaside-minimalist sorta vibe) plus there’s a GOOD free breakfast. One of the room options here is like a deluxe affair with amazing sea views and it’s beautiful. I mean, come on, you’re on top of the best Greek beach everrrrrrr (almost)…
It’s great, and as far as luxurious stays like this go, it’s cheap, but I’ll be honest. As far as cheap hostels go, a stay here could probably translate into months of travel in another country!
But as I’ve mentioned already, cheap hostels are few and far between, especially in Super Paradise Beach, but when in Rome, right? If you want to lap up the Mykonos Island life, I sure as hell ain’t gon’ stop you! Super Paradise Beach Resort is tucked away from the new port hustle so you’ll be able to indulge in your desert babe fantasies.
3. Budget Single Room – Best Cheap Hostel in Mykonos

Mykonos Island – home to super paradise and quintessential Greek Cycladic houses, but not many options for cheap hostels. Just like in other popular regions, some areas are a bit more expensive than others. Find out where to stay in Mykonos before you start your travels and your research will pay off.
Budget travellers do have to be a bit more prepared when travelling to these places with higher price tags than other countries. BUT, let’s go and have a good time! Rooms like Niko’s are places that will welcome and accommodate us, hallelujah! Plus, it’s kind of nice to switch up the hostel living and practice your social skills with randoms on the beach.

When I say all the essentials are provided, I mean just the essentials. But when you’re budget travelling and don’t want your pack to be weighed down with toiletries and linen, this is valuable intel, right? Add in the fact that the bathrooms run hot water showers for post-beach bod rinsing and it sounds like a pretty sweet stay.
There’s a mini fridge and a coffee maker on site so you can save extra coin with your own snacks and coffee sitch. And while there aren’t any laundry facilities on site, there’s a laundromat nearby, so you can get a refresh and reset on your laundry too. This is a great place to stay in Mykons to enjoy all the island has to offer without blowing out your budget.
Staying at Niko’s place in Little Venice is the perfect stay to enjoy hostel prices despite the lack of cheap hostels. Make the most of the golden sands of Mykonos Island and the tasty treats in the cafes, taverns and restaurants in town. Mykonos Town is just on your doorstep in this Airbnb in an epic location on the island.

4. Studio Eleni – Best Party Hostel in Mykonos

Located in the heart of Mykonos Town, Studio Eleni is in the perfect position to partayyyyy! It’s in a quiet area close to the Little Venice bus station so it’s easily accessible. And, you’re in for a good night’s sleep when you want to cash one in.
Most of the nightlife on Mykonos Island is in Mykonos Town and Studio Eleni is just a few minutes walk from all that jazz. Being within walking distance (or stumbling distance as the case may be) from the local bars and clubs has its obvious attractions. This Mykonos hostel isn’t a typical party hostel but it’s well-appointed to party and has a friendly social atmosphere.

The staff at this Mykonos hostel are so kind, friendly and helpful you’ll want for nothing here. There are laundry facilities, towels free of charge and air conditioning which is a huge plus when you’re feeling like a piece of shit. Depending on who you’re rolling with, you can book rooms that sleep up to five.
There’s a TV, a mini bar, air conditioning and free wifi in each room. So if it’s a big day of recovery from last night’s antics on the cards, lap it up in comfort. Or, you can get over it, do a lil vacay workout, get a sweat on and rinse it off in the ocean, ready to repeat!
Check out the beach bars around the place, have lunch in new port, happy hour at Super Paradise Beach Resort, the island is your oyster. Mykonos Town is where you’ll really disco but getting started at the beach bars is always a good idea, you might even spot some celebs.
5. Villa Vasilis – Best Stay in Mykonos For Digital Nomads

Villa Vasilis is fun to say and fun to stay! The perfect child friendly setup for families visiting Mykonos Island AND perfect for digital nomads without families in tow. Plus, it’s easy access to the airport so getting here is a breeze, the less admin the better amirite?
Each of the apartments and studios at Villa Vasillis has a desk and free wifi so you can hole up and let the productivity flow. There are sea views as well as a private bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning so you’ll be comfortable and feel at home in your space. Visit Greece at the right time and you’re winning, the temperature is mellow, the crowds are gone, the island is yours!

Mykonos Island is a wonderful place to be a digital nomad. It’s sunny and aesthetically pleasing, and there’s a vibrant nightlife and a cosmopolitan atmosphere. You can park up on that stunning rooftop terrace and do some work in that hot Grecian sun with a Gyro looking at the golden sands.
When you’re done with work for the day you’re well located to head out and enjoy the beach bars Mykonos Island has on offer. Mykonos Town is a 12 – 15 minute walk away and Paradise Beach is en route, home to epic beach bars if you need a midway refresher.

6. Villa Elina Suites

Villa Elina Suites are a great place to stay in Agios, one kilometre away from New Port, above Mykonos Town. With lovely suites for two to four people, close to the golden sands of Stefanos Bay, Villa Elina Suites are in a great location. The two superior suites that sleep four have sea views from a private balcony on the top floor.
What’s more, there’s a spa on the terrace everyone can enjoy! Villa Elina Suites are child friendly but breakfast isn’t included, you’ll have to suss that yourself. There are supermarkets in the New Port and you have a fridge if you need to stash your snacks.
7. Kouros Hotel & Suites
- Private Room: From $354
- Address: Main Street, Mýkonos City, 84600, Greece
With an amazing location and stunning views, the natural setting of this top hotel in Mykonos is worth the money. And then when you throw in super, super luxury surroundings – cocktail bar and pristine pool area. Plus, the rooms feature balconies and patios, general honeymoon-worthy decor and ambience – it just gets even better.
My pick for the best hotel to splurge on has freshly renovated deluxe rooms with elegant decor in ultracool white tones. With huge TVs for lazy mornings, some with outdoor hot tubs and literally incredible private sea views. Wow-ee. 8. Hippie Chic Hotel

First off, this is a bit of a weird name.. I’m not quite sure what counts for hippie or indeed hippie chic in terms of this particular hotel. But whatever. It’s posh AF, and you know there’s nothing hippie about that.
My favourite thing about this recommended hotel in Mykonos is prrrrrobably the poolside sushi bar which is just beyond luxury – love that. The rooms have coco-mat beds which are super comfy and the whole hotel has been designed with a local architecture – it’s not a monstrosity. It IS pricey though. No hippies allowed (joke).
9. Mina Studios
- Private Room: From $176
- Address: Platis Yialos Beach, Platis Yialos Mykonos, 84600, Greece
The cheapest room at this top hotel in Mykonos is the ‘Budget Double Room’. Compared to every other hotel that looks similar to this, the price is a steal. Seriously.
That doesn’t mean that this is the best budget hotel in Mykonos, don’t get it twisted, I’m still not sussing any cheap hostels. Mina Studios is pretty cool, the owners are amazing though, they’re very welcoming and friendly. And, they have a great brekkie!
10. Makis Place
- Private Room: From $242
- Address: Tourlos, Tourlos, 84600, Greece
Pool, bar, restaurant – all the things you ever need on holiday are here at Makis Place. And it’s really nice! All minimalist white, clean and airy, the sorta place you can lounge around in for endless afternoons – or Instagramming the fact that you’re there. You know how it is.
It’s very nice though, and for not a terrible price, either. It’s set in a super lush garden/grounds, and location-wise it’s about an eight – ten minute walk to the beach. The atmosphere in general here is pretty chilled too, since the staff are also chilled (AND nice AND helpful). Breakfast is freeeeee and it’s served outside.
11. Paradise View Hotel
- Private Room: From $303
- Address: Main Street, Paradise Beach, 84600, Greece
If you haven’t clocked it already you’ll be pleased to know that Paradise View Hotel is just a few minutes on foot from Paradise Beach. So ideal, you get the best of both worlds, you can chill at the beach, then have somewhere to escape to. Rather than being ON Paradise Beach the whole time.
Other than that the staff here are super friendly and helpful – and the BEDS, my oh my it’s like sleeping on a cloud. And the poll! That’s a great pool if ever I’ve seen one, max living on Mykonos Island that is, live it up.
12. Paradise Beach Camping
I know. I bet you’re all like, ‘Hang on you were just chatting about how luxe this place is and it’s a CAMPSITE?’ Yeah, yeah. However, in terms of the best budget hotel in Mykonos, you probably can do no better than Paradise Beach Camping.
The name of this place is a bit of a misnomer though: it’s mainly about the basic but clean bungalows at this vintage place to stay in Mykonos. In fact, this place has been going since the hippie heydays of the late ’60s, so maybe you can channel your inner, um, whatever here. Easily the best budget hotel in Mykonos. The location is good too: beach, clubs, restaurants, and all of the best things to do in Mykonos.
13. Markos Beach Hotel
For a beachside hotel that is literally ON the beach, the price of Markos Beach Hotel is pretty good to be fair. The quality of the actual hotel itself isn’t quite up to scratch with other hotels of a similar price that AREN’T literally ON the beach. It’s a trade-off. But it’s not exactly dilapidated, jeez no: it’s still REALLY nice!
Just not that ultra boutique flavour which you may be after whilst you’re on your little Greek getaway or whatever it is you’re doing here. It’s, you know, typically Cycladic whitewashed stone and all that. Some rooms have kitchenettes too, which is good for budgeteers. But mainly: BEACH.
Restaurants and tavernas are within easy walking distance for when you get snacky too!
14. Paraga Beach Hostel
This is probably the cheapest way to actually stay on the otherwise quite expensive and luxurious island of Mykonos. So it’s a winner, plus the island is great for partying: the feels here are like an adult summer camp.
So if you’re into music, meeting people and merriment then Paraga Beach is for you. Kinda more like a resort than a top hostel on Mykonos Island. But let’s say it’s both! It’s right next to the beach, too – win.
