It was once known as Pirate Island because, back in the 17th and 18th centuries, the island’s population was pretty much entirely made up of pirates. Today, it’s a picture-perfect tropical island with little to no modern development getting in the way of things. Between June and September, the island welcomes hundreds of active whales breeding off the huge island reef.
With a good range of luxurious accommodations, I rate this island as one of the best for couples, honeymooners, or anyone looking for some seriously chill beach time.

Unlike a traditional Jeep safari, this park is famous for its hiking trails, walking safaris, and night walks. You can spend a whole day hiking through this magical landscape along well-maintained trails with expert guides to lead the way. It was one of my best experiences in Africa for wildlife alongside the time I spent exploring Botswana.
Longoza Ecolodge – Best Eco-Lodge in Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
