Not sure where to start on this lush Caribbean Island? These are my personal picks for the top three accommodations in each of the island’s major parishes:
Maca Bana, St George’s / Grand Anse Beach
Maca Bana is a private villa in paradise. Tucked away next to one of Grenada’s most beautiful beaches with sweeping bay views, these villas have full kitchens and some very welcome extras like private hot tubs on the expansive decks overlooking the sea. Need I say more about this place to stay in Grenada?
Cabier Ocean Lodge, St. David Parish
Cabier Ocean Lodge is a charming beachfront retreat that combines the beauty of Grenadian style with modern comforts and amenities. Each room has unique touches, like high wooden ceilings, large windows offering ocean or rainforest views, and rustic local wooden furnishings.
But it’s the direct access to a secluded beach, on-site dining, and a bar that makes this a real escape from reality.
2-Bed Apartment with Bay Views, St. Patrick’s Parish
This two-bedroom apartment named Holmesway is a hidden gem in Grenada’s garden parish. The closest town is Sauteurs, and the home is perched on a hill overlooking this village and harbor. It’s got all the charms of local living, along with a garden where you can pick fresh herbs and seasonal ingredients for your own inventive culinary creations.

St. David Parish
Consider St. David’s Parish, the tranquil region of Grenada. It’s known for its rolling hills, rural landscape, and secluded beaches, perfect for those looking to totally escape the crowds. The catch is that there aren’t many accommodation choices around here.
St. Patrick’s Parish
St. Patrick’s Parish covers the northern part of the country, technically extending across the bay to Ronde Island and Caille Island. This area is rich in history and culture, with old colonial plantations and historic farms
Grenada is small. The country covers an area of 133 square miles and consists of three islands, the main one being the island of Grenada itself. This island, which I’m here to talk about, is just 21 miles long and 12 miles wide. But even being so small, deciding where to stay in Grenada is hugely important.
If you want to be at the heart of it all, St. George’s and Grand Anse Beach are your best bet. St. George’s is the colorful capital city, home to a beautiful mix of colonial architecture, spice markets, historic forts, and stunning views. Ten minutes drive away, Grand Anse Beach is the Carribean poster child of the Grenadines archipelago. It’s got that soft white sand, turquoise water, and a beachfront that makes it hard to resist a rum punch at sunset.

St. David’s Parish is the best place for travelers after a bit more peace and quiet. It’s a rural region characterized by rolling hills, hidden coves, and (mostly) unspoiled nature. There aren’t many hotels around here, but you can find the odd eco-lodge and boutique stay – usually surrounded by tropical greenery. You know those places where you wake up with the sun, explore hidden waterfalls and jungles, and end the day reading in a hammock? This is one of those places.
Up in the north of the island, St. Patrick’s Parish has a slower, more authentic pace to things. Its defining features include a rugged coastline and strong local traditions. I recommend staying in this area if you prefer traveling off the beaten path, eating local food, and don’t mind not meeting too many other travelers or expats.

From the capital city to remote parishes that have more tropical jungle than residential areas, these are the three top places to stay in Grenada:
1. St. George’s / Grand Anse Beach – Where to Stay in Grenada for Your First Time

Just a few minute’s drive away, Grand Anse Beach is the coastal hub of the island. It’s Grenada’s most popular beach, home to everything from beachfront resorts to affordable guesthouses. As you might expect, the area attracts a good mix of locals, expats, and tourists.
Blue Horizons Garden Resort | Best Hotel in St George’s / Grand Anse Beach
Blue Horizons is one of those classic beach resorts you expect to find lining the beaches of any Caribbean island. It’s set in a gorgeous tropical garden and is run by friendly staff who create a welcoming atmosphere for the space.
The rooms are clean and spacious, decorated with traditional Grenadian interiors.
473 Grenada Boutique Resort | Boutique Hotel in St George’s / Grand Anse Beach
473 Grenada Boutique Resort is my personal favorite place to stay in Grenada’s capital. It physically could not be closer to the sea, with rooms directly overlooking the water.
On top of its incredible location in a pristine tropical bay in Fort Jeudy, the best part about this property is the brightly decorated suites, the infinity pool, and the watersports offered off the private beach.
Maca Bana | Best Luxury Villas in St George’s / Grand Anse Beach
For those looking to rent a private villa in paradise, Maca Bana is one of the best. It’s beautifully located next to one of the island’s most gorgeous beaches, with a bird’s eye view of the bay. The villas are fitted with all the necessities to cook your own meals, as well as a few welcome extras, including a hot tub on the deck.
Unique Glamping Dome with Pool | Most Unique Stay in St George’s / Grand Anse Beach
Glamping domes are all the rage these days. They’re comfortable and air-conditioned yet still give you the camping feel. This dome is set amongst palm trees and is connected to a built-in bathroom. The boho-chic interiors have shaggy rugs, comfortable throws, and plush couches.

You won’t find any resorts, only a few boutique lodges, beachfront cottages, and eco-friendly spots. It’s the ideal place to stay in Grenada to enjoy a slower pace of life, with plenty of hiking trails, waterfalls, and hidden beaches to uncover.
La Sagesse Hotel, Restaurant and Beach Bar | Best Hotel for Families in St. David Parish
Located at the end of the bay right on the beachfront in St. David’s Parish, La Sagesse Hotel is an all-in-one hotel, restaurant, and beach bar. Guests can choose between cabins or suites in the manor house, surrounded by manicured gardens.
The suites are all simple and traditionally decorated, and there are even family-sized rooms for those traveling with kids.
Cabier Ocean Lodge | Best Hotel in St. David Parish
Tucked away between the ocean and the rainforest in a small area called Crochu, Cabier Ocean Lodge is a beautiful beachfront property with a traditional Grenadian flair. Although the rooms are all slightly unique, they share similarities, such as high wooden ceilings, big windows, and wooden furnishings.
It’s a bit remote, but with the public beach literally steps below the hotel and the onsite bar and restaurant, it’s the perfect place to stay in Grenada for an off-the-beaten-path experience.
Big Sky Lodge | Best B&B in St. David Parish
Big Sky Lodge is a traditional Caribbean home tucked away on a beautiful piece of land just inland from the coastline. The home is surrounded by birdsong and has sea views. The interiors are basic, but offer everything you might need for a simple island experience.
It is hosted by a resident family who cooks and prepares breakfast and dinner for you at a marginal extra cost.

A few things make this gorgeous cottage stand out for me. First, it’s set on a seafront property with rolling lawns and manicured tropical gardens.
Second, the building itself is relatively new and modern, yet is inspired by the traditional colonial style with its covered porch. And third, it’s got two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and private parking, which makes it the perfect place to stay in Grenada for a family vacation.
2-Bed Apartment with Bay Views | Most Affordable Rental in St. Patrick’s Parish
Holmesway is a small Caribbean oasis that feels like staying in a local Grenadian home. It has two bedrooms with enough space for four guests and is located at a high vantage point overlooking the harbor and town of Sauteurs below.
And the best part is that you can harvest herbs and seasonal ingredients from the garden to prepare your own at-home meals.
Mount Rose Cabin | Mountain Cabin in St. Patrick’s Parish
Mount Rose Cabin is one of the most unique properties on the island. Instead of a beachfront location, it is set high in the northern mountains of Mount Rose, overlooking the Pointzfield neighborhood and the sea.
It’s small but has been beautifully fitted with classic-cabin-inspired interiors and a sun deck with panoramic views. From this little remote oasis, it feels as if you are the only guests in the area, with nothing but birdsong and nature around.

Final Thoughts on Where to Stay in Grenada
Where you stay in Grenada can totally set the tone for your entire trip, and choosing accommodation really comes down to what type of experience you want to have. It’s not just about finding a comfy bed; it’s about soaking in the local culture, being a few steps from an epic sunset spot, and finding a dreamy ‘local’ beach to return to day after day.
While most of the island’s accommodations are concentrated around St. George’s and Grand Anse Beach, there are plenty of low-key homestays and self-catering rentals in St. Patrick’s and St. David’s Parish.
In my humble opinion, the two stand-out properties from this list would have to be the Mount Rose Cabin in the remote mountains of St. Patrick’s Parish and this Glamping Dome just outside the capital in St. George’s.
