Every digital nomad alive seems to know about Bali… but what about Lombok? Just a 3-hour boat ride from the Island of the Gods is a neighbor that you may not have even considered to use as a remote work base.

But trust me… you need to look into it.

Why? Because let’s face it – Bali is beautiful, BUT it’s getting crowded. Coworking spaces are filled up, traffic can truly take hours, and the amount of nomads calling it home keeps going up and up.

Enter Lombok … a green and serene surfing island that, while up and coming, is still peaceful and manageable. With epic beaches ideal for both catching waves and swimming, a massive volcano up north, and plenty of epic little cafes and workspaces, Lombok is the perfect hub for nomads who want to move a bit beyond Bali.

I recently spent some time nomading on the island and can confirm that there are some stellar (and delicious) places to make a dent in your workday.

Let’s get all the way into the very best coworking spaces in Lombok!

8 Lombok Coworking Spaces for Digital Nomads

As Lombok is just easing its way into the digital nomad scene, there aren’t nearly as many spots as neighboring Bali.

Even so, you’ve still got two proper coworking spaces to choose from that are convenient no matter where you stay in Lombok 🙂

    1. South Lombok Coworking Space

No doubt the best coworking space in Lombok is none other than South Lombok Coworking space, which is quite literally directly across from Kuta Beach in Kuta Lombok. This professional digital nomad spot has a ton of invaluable perks … like 24/7 access to the space if you buy a weekly or longer membership.

Y’all, Lombok may not be as sweltering as Bali but it is still HOT so the (cold and constant!) air conditioning made working from here a dream. The location is far from the noise of the town’s main road, and the shared workspaces are comfortable AF with those ergonomic desk chairs I know I miss when I’m in a cafe.

There’s also a meeting room and an outdoor terrace that looks out onto the turquoise waters of Mandalika Bay – deff not a bad spot for a decompression Bintang once you finish all your work. While it’s not quite as great as Tribal Hostel over in Bali, it’s my winner for now 🙂

High-speed internet is available 24/7 (obviously), but you’ll also be free to enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and water all day long as a member!

    Membership Options and Costs

    • Hourly pass: 50,000 RP
    • Day pass: 200,000 RP
    • Weekly: 750,000 RP
    • Monthly: 2,000,000 RP
    • 3 month pass: 4,700,000 RP
    • Meeting room: 150,000 RP/ hour

    Pros

    • Back up generator
    • Modern interior design
    • 24/7 access for long-term members

    Cons

    • No restaurant
    • Busier location than CoKreate

    2. Cokreate

Situated on a quiet, leafy street far away from the noise and chaos of Kuta’s main drag is one other official Lombok coworking space that I know y’all nomads will LOVE. Especially if you’re staying in one of Lombok’s hostels where peace and quiet can be a bit harder to find…

Almost hidden behind its many lush trees, CoKreate is the perfect place to settle in for a day of productivity – and it also has AC too! The natural light that pours in through the working area (which is aptly decorated with surfboards and decor that just screams “island vibes) is absolutely on point. And the pricing scheme is pretty damn favorable, particularly if you plan to hang around.

With FOUR fiber connections, upload speeds of 8mbs and download speeds of 30 Mbps, any kind of remote job is possible here.

I also LOVED how they surprisingly also have a restaurant on the first floor. The Wifi is slower, but that’s what a lunch break is for anyway, right?

    Membership Options and Costs

    • Hourly pass: 40,000 RP
    • Day pass: 200,000 RP
    • Weekly: 700,000 RP
    • Monthly: 2,100,000 RP

    Pros

    • Amazing location
    • Excellent design
    • Tons of natural light
    • Restaurant!

    Cons

    • Not the cheapest in Asia

Cafes for Digital Nomads in Lombok

And now onto more spots where you can live the digital nomad life in Lombok – tasty and trendy cafes perfect for a day of deep work.

    3. Loka Cafe

Okay, so this MIGHT just be the most comprehensive cafe in Lombok! Aside from being a fantastic place to get some work done, it’s also a whole entire gym and recovery center too. So yes, we’re talking an in-house sauna and a menu made for healthy post-workout eats.

Situated on a quiet part of Kuta’s main drag, I really felt this was one of the MOST relaxing places to work from.

Of course – the Wifi is fast – but I loved that prices were cheap compared to other Kuta coworking cafes. The hours are also fantastic for those of us who love working late – you can pop in from 7 AM – 10 PM every day of the week.

    Pros

    • On-site gym
    • New salad bowl featured every day
    • Quiet and shady work area
    • Ice bath + sauna
    • Good coffee

    Cons

    • Wait times for food can be long
    • No AC, only fans

    4. Bush Radio

This quickly became my FAVORITE digital nomad cafe in Lombok. The building has a cool vibe that gives “distressed warehouse” if you get what I mean!

Strong wifi and even better eats are why I saw many remote workers there daily – and I will warn you that sometimes you may have to wait for a seat.

The BEST bowl on the island.

But it’s absolutely worth it for two things: the best and biggest smoothie bowls in ALL of Lombok, and another dish I had never even seen in Bali – avocado toast with smoked mahi mahi. Needless to say, I had it more than once.

    Pros

    • AMAZING food
    • Cool aesthetic
    • Good Wi-Fi
    • No minimum spend to work
    • Breakfast served late

    Cons

    • No AC
    • Can get crowded

    5. Kenza

I ended up at Kenza several times while traveling in Lombok, and while it’s definitely not the cheapest cafe in town, it’s 100% worth working (and eating) from at least once. During some local holidays, I also found it to be the only place still open, so it’s deff worth adding to your Lombok itinerary.

    Kenza’s quality never disappoints.

Kenza has both indoor and outdoor seating areas, and you’ll see surfers and nomads alike pop in and out all day. The menu is inspired by Western brunch faves, though they also have lunch options like poke bowls (delicious and my go-to) and sandwiches.

The only thing to note is that while they do stay open later, Kenza has a no-laptops after 7 PM policy, which makes it a Lombok coworking space to get to early.

    Pros

    • Large, delicious menu
    • Fast WiFi
    • No minimums to work
    • Outdoor seating
    • AC inside

    Cons

    • It’s common to have to wait for a table even in the offseason
    • Expensive compared to other cafes – smoothie bowls go from 80k IDR
    • Isn’t digital nomad-friendly after 7 pm

    6. Munchies

I only ate and worked from here once, and out of all the Lombok coworking spaces on this list, I would say it was my least favorite. It was a bit overcrowded, and while the Wifi was strong and the menu solid, a lot more people were dining instead of working, which made things a bit noisy.

Even so, Munchies is a bit out of the busiest section of Kuta, and their smoothie bowl prices are just about unbeatable. The design was also pretty unique – I worked from my laptop on a table that was cut into the wall.

Overall, I’d still say it’s worth checking out during your Lombok trip – even if you can’t quite get into a working groove, the foodie in you will be satisfied.

    Pros

    • Iconic prices
    • All day brekkie
    • Solid Wifi connection

    Cons

    • No AC
    • Loud in the back
    • Not an ideal work environment

    7. Gecko

What I loved about this spot was that it definitely still seems to be pretty unknown – it was by far the quietest cafe I worked from. The open door concept means you’re inside without being fully inside.

Even so, it was pleasantly cool, especially sitting in the back. And trust me once you start doing things on Lombok, you’ll appreciate a breezy workspace! While the food is pretty similar to what you’ll find everywhere else, they do have a few unique drinks and appetizers I only saw there.

The Wi-Fi worked well and I did see one other pair of nomads working away. I only got to pop in once, but I definitely would prioritize it if I came back.

    Pros

    • Quiet atmosphere
    • Breakfast served late
    • Various types of seats
    • Has an associated accommodation
    • High-quality WiFi

    Cons

    • A bit of a pricy menu
    • Small portion sizes

    8. Milk Espresso

So I’ll be honest with you – this spot is last for a reason, BUT I had to include it for the coffee lovers among us.

While it certainly pops off in that department, the main reason why it’s settled in last place is: it stops serving ALL breakfast items (including smoothie bowls) at 12 PM. Personally, I think this is a major shortcoming because, let’s be real, a creamy, cold taste of fruity goodness is definitely an all-day kind of thing.

But – that does make this an excellent spot for those who like to get started with their day extra early. It opens up at 6:30 am and closes at 6 pm, which is a bit of a contrast from other Lombok digital nomad spots. The highlight is unsurprisingly its coffee – which may be the best in town. The salmon eggs benedict is pretty iconic too – but do get there early!

    Pros

    • High-quality coffee choices
    • Relatively fast service
    • Good Wifi

    Cons

    • Odd food timings
    • No AC

Final Thoughts on Lombok’s Coworking Spaces

With Jurassic Park-like beaches and gnarly surf spots just a short scooter ride away from town, basing yourself in Lombok as a digital nomad has a LOT of perks.

And luckily – just as many places to work from!

Lombok was so much more peaceful than Bali, and I really loved the work routine I got into while on this special island.

If you’re looking for a spot to really get into a deep grind in comfort no matter the temperature, grab a pass at South Lombok Coworking Space. It’s also a fab spot to shoot the shit with fellow nomads.

But regardless of which Lombok coworking space (or cafe) ends up becoming your fave, I have no doubt you’ll end up enjoying your days on this special lil’ island 🙂 And if you love smoothie bowls and mahi mahi as much as I do – Bush Radio is your place!
