With seemingly endless coastline and infinite chill vibes, Taghazout is my all time favourite destination in Morocco. That intoxicating mix of calm and chaos, the smell of spices and the sea air, there’s real magic here for sure.
Most surf hostels in Taghazout are right on the beach, making getting out on the waves as easy as can be. From the rooftop of my hostel dorm room, I could even smell the ocean!
A mere $10 can get you a crashpad and a beach view. Everyday, I would wake up, enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast, zip up my wetsuit, and walk over to the badest breaks. Yeww, how’s that for Pura Vida?

Tagzhazout has so many hostel options that it was hard to pick just 5. I narrowed it down based on my absolute favorites during my recent backpacking trip to Morocco.

Sunset Surf House is the sorta hostel every traveler looks forward to returning to. I know for a fact its one of the BEST surf hostels in Taghazout. Once you see the reviews, you will see I am not the only one who thinks so! In fact, it’s been voted as one of the best hostel in Morocco.
Every morning, I woke up feeling excited at this awesome place. During my stay, I had a delicious Moroccan breakfast and then strolled over to the beach with my surf instructor. It was the perfect way to start my day!

Sunset Surf House is a home away from home for many travelers. I also appreciated that the hostel had both dorms and private rooms available too. I started in the dorm rooms, but when I extended my stay, I moved to a private room for extra comfort. They do their absolute best to cater to different people.
If you are on a budget, you can use the kitchen to store food and eat it after a hard day of surfing. I found the breakfast was well enough to keep my stomach full until I made myself a sandwich later in the day. This really helped me stay within my pretty modest budget.
Not to forget my favorite part… On-site yoga classes! Nothing beats a post-surf yoga class. I enjoyed the evening flow, and the instructor was kind enough to help me fix my posture a few times throughout the class. This was one of my favorite yoga experiences in Morroco for sure.
Do not underestimate the power of a cozy and friendly hostel. A place like this will have you extending weeks on end. Maybe the opportunity to work while traveling will come up, and you can stay forever!

As a solo traveler, I am always encouraged to walk into a hostel and feel at home, and this hostel excels at precisely that. They host so many gatherings to bring people together. Some of my favorites were the family dinners and movie nights. It really was one of the best places I stayed in Morocco.

I ended up extending my stay twice because I loved it so much! Everyone in the hostel is so warm, from the owners with HUGE smiles to the staff who eased my stress from solo traveling. With all the love in this place, I never felt alone.
You can sign up for the surf package, which includes renting a wetsuit, surfboard, and a surf guide too. The best part? This hostel is only a 2-minute walk from the beach! You can smell the ocean from the rooftop… yeww!
They also offer airport pickups if you request them ahead of time. This was a game changer for me, and it was reassuring to land at the airport and find out that someone I trusted was waiting for me. Overall, this is one of the coolest surf hostels in Morocco and it totally makes you feel at home.
3. Happy Surf Hostel – Best Cheap Hostel in Taghazout

Happy Surf Hostel was the best cheap hostel in Taghazout during my stay. Although the price points are very similar to other hostel options in Taghazout, I found the value WAY greater here, mainly due to the yummy Moroccan breakfast included when you book your stay.
Every day I started with a nice warm Moroccan mint tea, served with cubed sugar on the side, boiled eggs, and warm Khubz bread. Of all the hostel stays, I found Happy Surf Hostel to have the best breakfast! The staff served it with a smile and it felt like it was made with love.

I booked a private room for only $25 USD a night, including breakfast. Split between me and my travel buddy was about $12.50 each per night. What a ripper deal. Although the prices tend to go up during high season, If you book ahead of time, you should be able to snag a good deal. If you were worried that Morocco would be expensive, then this place can surely put your mind at ease.
Enjoy a nice ocean view on the rooftop and sit back on the traditional Moroccan sofas. Trust me, it is the full cultural experience you are looking for. The best part about the hostel is the cute cats that cuddle you in the common areas. It is always a green flag when I see hostels treat animals with kindness, and these cats live like kings!

When you do a quick Google search for the best party hostels in Taghazout, you will see there aren’t many. Taghazout is not the biggest party town, but you will find some incredibly social hostels that boast party vibes. Welle Surf Morocco is one of them.
Karim, the hostel owner, welcomed me with a warm aura. He does his best to make sure everyone has a great stay at Welle Surf. A friend I made at the hostel told me he happily accompanied her to the ATM when she was feeling a little nervous by herself, but don’t worry, Morocco is super safe.
So, what makes this hostel the perfect party hostel in Taghazout? I would say it is the social vibes and the rooftop which ideal for meeting people. Every time I went to the top floor, music was playing, people were playing cards, or someone was strumming a guitar. Grab a beer and embrace the good old-fashioned social vibes.

The last time I visited, they had two kittens roaming around! They brought so much light to my days. I always looked forward to coming back to the hostel and seeing them. It is always reassuring to come to a hostel with animals, they’re just medicine for the soul for sure.

At the reception, they will happily help you book activities and tours for your stay in Taghazout, from snorkeling to fishing, surfing and anything else you can think of. Social events are held daily at TEDDY PIRATE, which is a hub for digital nomads exploring Morocco.

Not to mention, the breakfast is absolutely delicious! Make sure to try the Boris Italian espresso. It is by far my favorite. My daily routine consisted of morning yoga, yummy breakfast, work, and sunset surf. It doesn’t get better than that.
The best part about this place has to be its proximity to the beach. I fell asleep every night to the sound of the waves and ran to the rooftop terrace every morning for a yoga session with ocean views. This is the perfect getaway to work and play.

Amayour Surf Hostel is a chilled hostel within walking distance of Taghazout Beach. It offers single-room and mixed-dorm room options, so everyone is catered for. I loved the Handmade Berber beds too—they were so comfy!
The staff were also so friendly. They made me feel at home from the first moment I walked in. The rooftop terrace is great for watching the waves, hanging out with other travelers, enjoying the sun, and getting some work done.

Sunny Wave Hostel offers nice, breezy, bright rooms, amazing staff, and amazing surf views. I really appreciated the hostel’s offering of both private room and dorm room options. You see many different travelers, from backpackers to families. The diversity brought tremendous energy to the place.
You can add breakfast to your stay package for a very affordable price, which I highly recommend…It is delicious! Sunny Wave is an excellent option for cheap and comfortable accommodation in Taghazout.
9. GOLVEN Surf

This beachfront hostel is one of the best social hostels in Taghazout. It was such a nice experience. It’s a clean and cozy place and is one of the best spot for solo travelers as well as groups. Med was a fantastic host too and I have such fond memories of chatting about traveling and surfing as the sunset in the distance.
The room I stayed in had a comfy bed with a private bathroom. After a long day of surfing, I always looked forward to returning to take a nice hot shower. I highly recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for a chill place with a friendly vibe. I mean, if you’re looking for a reason NOT to visit Morocco, this ain’t one!

Located on Taghazout Beach, the hostel’s rooftop offers a panoramic view from Anchor Point to Taghazout Bay. This view is perfect for checking out the waves before heading out.

The minute I walked into this hostel, it immediately gave off a family vibe, which is always a green flag. Most guests extend two or three extra nights because of how much they love it- and so did I.
