What to Expect from Airbnbs in Ubud

Now, as you well know, Airbnbs all differ from one another in terms of what they offer and the overall experience – and staying in Ubud is no different.

There are also so many different types of Airbnbs but what I love about them is that they all seem to embrace and not fight against the local environment. This is something that generic digs like hotels aren’t able to capture. They are almost robotic in their offerings and lack that personal touch you get with an Airbnb.

Believe me, choosing an Airbnb can be a daunting task – there are always questions in the back of your mind.

Are you choosing the most authentic one or a poor replica? Is the host going to be awesome or turn out to be a psychopath!? Are you going to be in a prime location or get burnt with a unit that is two towns and a boat ride away from all the epic things to do in Ubud?

These unfortunately are part of the experience and you’re going to hit a few stones in the road, so to speak. Let’s just hope it’s only a stone and not a water buffalo or a pothole big enough to lose your scooter in!

Airbnbs in Ubud take on many different forms, as I briefly touched on earlier, and thus, many different rental types are available.

You can expect options such as traditional Balinese homes, Eco lodges and those that focus on sustainability as well as guesthouses, villas, and of course, luxury resorts.

You can even nab yourself something simple and cheap like a room in a house. For me, this is a super cool way to really get that authentic experience by staying with a local. What better way to discover a place, right?

In terms of amenities, you can expect most modern comforts from the Ubud’s Airbnbs – WiFi, AC, a smart TV, and free parking on the premises. But don’t stress, because it certainly doesn’t end there! If you’re lucky, you’ll get a rad pool, outdoor kitchen, space to practice yoga, a lush garden, and even spa facilities.

3 Luxurious Bedrooms by Cahyana House | Overall Best Value Airbnb

3 luxurious bedrooms by Cahyana House in Ubud

Kicking things off for the best Airbnbs in Ubud is this epic Balinese-style villa that is perfect for a few couples or even a family. The unit sleeps up to six guests across three bedrooms, each equipped with a king-size bed so there’s plenty of sleeping room. But hey, there’s so much to do and see in Ubud so you won’t be spending much time in the bedroom.

The house also boasts AC, WiFi, a TV, and those epic room-darkening shades if you wish to have a lie-in and keep the sunlight out! One of my favourite parts of this sweet spot is the pool area with loungers for those long, lazy days soaking up the tropical rays. There’s also an epic outdoor dining area for those balmy evening meals with your friends and family.

1 BDRM Ubud | Best Budget Airbnb in Ubud

The AC is great and the WiFi is fast so you’re all set for a comfortable stay during your time in Ubud.

It’s a short 10-minute walk into the centre of Ubud where there are a whole host of shops, restaurants, local warungs, and laundry services.

But who says that defines what a villa is – this spot really has it all. It’s also got a private pool, AC, free parking, fast WiFi, a kitchen, and a dedicated workspace – I think it warrants villa status (maybe a mini villa).

EARTHSHIP Eco Luxe Home

EARTHSHIP Eco Luxe Home in Ubud

If you’re looking for a spot that is both serene and less impactful on the environment, then this is the place for you. Earthship is an eco villa that’s set in and amongst the rice paddies for maximum relaxation. The villa offers guests a grounded experience that’s centered on getting back in touch with the earth.

One of the coolest features of the villa is the eco pool, one of the only natural pools on the island. The pool doesn’t use any chemicals to keep it clean but instead is filtered and cleaned by microbes and plants. How cool? Talk about a guilt-free swim! There’s also WiFi (if you need it), AC, a bathtub, a yoga space, and a simple kitchen for preparing meals with herbs and vegetables from the permaculture garden. Sign me up!

Now, this awesome tropical villa really tickles my fancy. While it’s the perfect spot for honeymooners and couples, don’t let that stop you from staying here as a solo traveller or even a couple of mates. You’ll have your very own private pool nestled between the unit and the lush surrounding greenery – it really is a little slice of tropical heaven.

The bedroom features a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom as well as AC, a TV, and fast WiFi. There’s a cool little outdoor kitchen that has everything you’ll need to whip up some delicious meals if you don’t feel like venturing out for food. Although the local cuisine is delicious and the town is only a short 10-minute commute away – your call!

Intimate Private Pool Villas in Ubud Centre

Intimate Private Pool Villas in Ubud Centre

The next Airbnb in Ubud is perfect for those couples and travellers who enjoy being surrounded by the natural environment. The villa is a part of the local surroundings and is considered one with the environment. If this sounds like your vibe, then it’s the perfect spot for you – but don’t stress, there are plenty of comfortable amenities.

This next villa is rad for a couple of couples or a couple of mates, featuring two bedrooms, both equipped with queen-sized beds. The bedrooms also both have en-suite bathrooms, one featuring a bathtub and the other has a shower. You might need to have a good ol’ rock/paper/scissors battle to see who gets what!

The villa is also perfectly located in Ubud, a 5-minute scooter ride to the centre and walking distance from restaurants and laundry services.

There’s also a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, an epic outdoor chill area next to the pool, WiFi, a TV, and even a dedicated workspace. Private Villa w/ Infinity Pool Minutes From Ubud!

Private Villa w/ Infinity Pool Minutes From Ubud!

What’s better than lazing in an infinity pool overlooking the lush greenery of a forest in Ubud with a cold one in hand? Doing it with your partner – unless, of course, you’re a one-man wolf pack, in which case you’ll be perfectly happy on your own.

This epic rental in Ubud is centrally located in the town and is the real epitome of a relaxed environment. The large bedroom features a king-size bed that overlooks the infinity pool and is stylishly minimalistic in its look and feel.

Both the bathroom and kitchen are semi-outdoor and really add to the feeling of being part of the natural surroundings. There’s also a small workspace, WiFi, HDTV, and AC, with free parking on the premises too. Easy does it!

Bebalilodge, One-Bedroom House With Private Pool

Bebalilodge, One-bedroom House With Private Pool in Ubud

Now, there are a few really cool things about this spot but the first is that it’s made out of recycled wood how sick is that?! This is something that will really appeal to those who are big into responsible travel and upcycling.

Secondly, the house is completely surrounded by nature and overlooks rice paddies just a few steps away. This evokes feelings of relaxation as you can truly immerse yourself in the natural surroundings Ubud is famous for. The awesome infinity pool also overlooks the nearby jungle and will help to cool you off and further relax in the tropical heat.

The bedroom features a queen-sized bed with an en-suite bathroom complete with indoor and outdoor showers as well as a bathtub. There is also breakfast for two included for the duration of your stay as you ease into the day – bliss!

Luxe Villa in Tropical Oasis, Ubud.

Luxe Villa in Tropical Oasis, Ubud.

Rounding off my list of the most epic Airbnbs in Ubud is this banging 1-bedroom tropical oasis a stone’s throw from the town. The villa takes on a super cool open-plan style that is exposed to the elements but allows you to really connect with the surrounding environment.

It also features a traditional 200-year-old joglo – a complex Javanese-style home. This really adds to the one-of-a-kind nature of the rental and adds to the rustic yet elegant charm of the space.

There’s a basic kitchen if you wish to cook at home but there is a restaurant that is owned by the same people walking distance away. You’ll also find an epic jungle-esque pool that has a super rad chill pod adjacent to it for poolside relaxation sessions or having drinks.
