Islamabad is also home to the Faisal Mosque, the fifth largest of its kind in the world, and a sight that cannot be missed.
But let me not get too distracted

I briefly touched on the Airbnb scene in Islamabad above but now let me go into a bit more detail about what to expect.
As I said, the whole Airbnb movement is still relatively fresh in Pakistan although it is gaining in popularity. There are a few factors that have limited its growth and expansion in the country but that changes as things grow and evolve.
Things like local regulations, infrastructure, and local awareness of the platform all play a part in the development and popularity of Airbnbs in Islamabad and the rest of the country.
Having said this, you will still be able to nab yourself a pretty sweet spot and there are a great variety of options available to you for your trip around Pakistan.
The most popular rental types that you can expect to come across in the city are by far apartments, condos, and entire homes. These dominate the Airbnb listings and are generally going to be the units that you’ll end up renting.
You might also come across private and shared rooms, boutique hotels and guesthouses, and sometimes even a high-end villa but these are a lot less likely.
In terms of the amenities that you can expect to come across in the rental units, many of the usual suspects appear here.
Don’t expect your socks to be blown off, unfortunately. Essential amenities such as AC, WiFi, kitchens, TVs, laundry facilities, private parking, bedding and towels, hairdryers, and private entrances are all pretty much standard.

There is also an additional sofa bed in the one room so it’ll have to be a good ol’ game of rock, paper, scissors to see who gets it.
The home is super versatile and will work well for a family or a couple of couples visiting the city for either a short or long stay. There are two living rooms, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen for those delicious meals at home. My favourite aspect though is the enclosed patio area complete with fake grass. It’s a great spot to relax and read a book or enjoy your morning coffee.
Executive Escape: 1 BHK | Best Budget Airbnb in Islamabad
This next spot is the ideal Airbnb in Islamabad for those budget travellers who don’t have big dollar bills to splash out on fancy accommodation. The apartment is spacious, modern, and has all the amenities you’ll need for a super comfortable stay. Think table tennis, a sauna, a jacuzzi, and an open-air cinema/movie night vibe – I mean, how epic? It’s, therefore, best suited for a couple of travelling mates or even a small family who are visiting the city for a few days.
The apartment boasts a beautifully modern interior from the open-plan living room, dining area, and kitchen to the bathrooms and beyond. In addition, you’ll have full elevator access, free parking on the premises, AC, a patio/balcony area, and an indoor fireplace for those chilly winter evenings.

Aptly named The Attic, the next spot comes in the form of a loft-style studio apartment, set over two levels. The bottom level is made up of the open-plan living room, dining area, dedicated workspace, kitchenette, and bathroom. The upper loft level is comprised of a sleeping area, complete with two single beds, a chair, and additional workspace.
In addition, there’s an awesome hot tub in the bathroom that’s the perfect catalyst to engage in full relaxation mode after a long day. Another really cool feature is that you can put away your chef’s hat and have home-cooked meals prepared for you for an additional cost. It’s a great way to sample the local cuisine and have the convenience of not having to cook – a real win-win situation.

The final Airbnb in Islamabad takes us back to a location that we’ve all become quite familiar with in this article – opposite Centaurus Mall. This lavishly decorated 2-bedroom apartment is in one of the most convenient locations in the city. It can sleep a maximum of 4 guests across the two rooms, each housing a comfortable large double bed. There are also two bathrooms so you can relax knowing you’ll never have to fight over a loo, basin, or shower.
One of my favourite aspects of the apartment is the large outdoor patio area, complete with a couch and swing. It’s the perfect spot to relax, take in the city views, or watch the sunrise with your morning brew.
